We were invited to display and sell our works of art by Movenpicks General Manager - Patrick Joulain. After seeing our exhibition 'Mettisage' at La Pointe, Tamarin, Patrick was interested in creating a permanent exhibition... a gallery within Movenpick Hotel. After discussing it with Abdool Mamode, Abdool organised 5 other artists (myself included) to display and sell our works.
On the first day of opening the gallery showed to be a success when I sold the first painting of the exhibition. I sold 'Mother Natures Heart' to a lovely warmhearted couple all the way over from Strasbourg who really understood the esscence of my paintings and the message I was trying to convey.
The hotel was interested in our unique art to enhance the variety of items on offer for the guests. It gave them easy access to individual creations not found anywhere else in Mauritius.

In my opinion the gallery was a success. the 3 month trial was a perfect time to prove that tourists all over the world enjoy purchasing art to take back home.
